OUR MISSION
In today’s digital world, technological skills are a necessity, not a luxury. From accessing healthcare and banking to staying connected, digital literacy is essential for full participation in modern life. Without these skills, many face barriers to opportunities and resources that support independence and well-being.
Tech4Bharat, our student-led initiative, bridges this gap by empowering underprivileged communities and senior citizens in India with essential digital skills. Through interactive sessions and accessible materials, we help participants navigate smartphones, the internet, and key platforms, enhancing their access to services, communication, and overall quality of life.
WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT

Many students and young job seekers in India struggle because they lack basic digital skills. From filling out online applications to learning new skills, digital literacy can open doors to better education and job opportunities.
2
Empowering Rural Communities
In villages, many people miss out on government benefits, online banking, and essential services simply because they don’t know how to use digital tools. Teaching digital literacy can help them access these resources independently.
3
Protecting Families from Online Risks
With more people in India using smartphones and the internet, scams, misinformation, and online fraud are growing problems. Digital literacy helps families stay safe online and make smart decisions.

DIGITAL LITERACY IN INDIA
Digital literacy in India remains a work in progress, with significant disparities across regions and demographics. Approximately 25% of the population is digitally literate, capable of using basic tools and services, while 30% possess moderate skills but face challenges with advanced technology. Around 20% have limited access and knowledge, mainly in rural areas, while 15% are entirely digitally illiterate. Additionally, 10% of the population remains unconnected, lacking access to the internet or devices. Bridging this gap is essential to ensure inclusive growth in an increasingly digital world.
